Principal
Mahana is in good hands with Carolyn Scorrar as the Acting Principal for Term 4 and Term 1, 2026.
It's reassuring that she has a long history with the school, which means she's very familiar with its operations and culture while the permanent Principal search is underway.

Teacher Year 1 / 2
My name is Shaelea Moorhead. It is a privilege to be working with new entrants to year 2 students and to be a part of Mahana school whanau/community. I grew up in Nelson and love all the wonderful activities kindly provided in our outdoors. When I'm not teaching you'll find me exploring New Zealand's beautiful nature and beaches. I enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, eating and spending time with my family and friends.

Office Manager
Hi, I’m Jenny Robinson and I’m the Office Manager. I carry out a multitude of different office tasks and are available to help those that are feeling unwell or injured.
I have worked at the school since 1998 and enjoy the daily interactions with the children, staff and Mahana community.
I live in Wakefield with my daughter, Teneil, son-in-law and two wonderful grandchildren. My son, Logan, lives in Melbourne, Australia.
Having come from a farming background I would be lost without animals around me hence I have 2 birman cats named Graham and Tabitha, and also my daughters papillon, Oliver.
I have played hockey for years and travelled to many countries around the world.
I enjoy working in my garden, meeting with friends and creating in my craft corner!
